The internet is a great, and ever more popular resource when trying to look for information these days.
Unfortunately, Indonesia is one of those countries that have been slow to realize this though.
The country has few impartial, official tourism websites, and those that do exist are often of poor quality.
It often seems to be the case that regional tourism offices set up a decent website when they get funds to do so, but lose interest in maintaining it once the funds are spent, and their site will be allowed to expire within a year!
Many of the sites an online search will find are in fact run by private companies, and are full of ads or are even totally commercial in nature - of course information gathered from such sources needs to be read with some reservations!
